We take a lot of care to make some of the best mattresses money can buy at Verlo and we are really proud of them. Recently, Mark Nelson, a 20-year veteran of the bedding industry who understands mattresses better than anyone we know, shared his opinions of our Verlo Grandeur Elite mattress.
What he had to say only confirmed what we already knew: The Verlo Grandeur Elite is an incredible mattress and possibly the best buy in the mattress industry today.
Nelson was impressed by the quality of foam, which happens to be Talalay latex, one of the most expensive, durable and pressure-relieving foams on the market. “One of the biggest reasons why this bed is such a great value, they use latex foam inside of it,” said Nelson, a founding partner of retail bedding stores in Texas and longtime salesman.
“Not only do they use latex foam, they use three inches of latex foam, and that is highly unusual because most products out in the industry are using half this amount of foam, some even less. To have three inches of foam is impressive,” he said.
And the fact Verlo continues to offer customers the option of double-sided beds while the “S-brands” do not speaks to our level of commitment to a good night’s sleep. “It is going to last a lot longer and give you more comfort for a longer period of time,” Nelson said.
But it may be our coil system ─ one of the firmest designs available ─ that puts the Grandeur Elite above all the rest. With five different zones of varying firmness, you get more support in the heaviest parts of your bodies, like the hips and shoulders.
Don’t discount the cashmere, which tops the mattress. This mattress has a plush Euro Top that wicks away moisture and regulates temperature naturally. “It is the most expensive wool out there and it helps keep your temperature neutral,” Nelson said.
“People sleep at different temperatures and this mattress, unlike most name brand memory foam mattresses, will sleep cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It sheds heat so you’ll always be comfortable,” said Nelson. “The more comfortable you are at night, the deeper you will sleep and the better you will feel the next day.”
Verlo’s Grandeur mattresses compare to a luxury plush pillow top by a brand-name competitor that has a much steeper retail cost. Macy’s advertised that mattress for $3,100 – $4,200. The Verlo, which has more expensive features and is locally made, is $1,799 to $2,299, depending on size.
With all of Verlo’s features combined with a price point below the competition’s, it’s a hard mattress to beat.
“I’d recommend that anyone looking for a higher-end mattress should take a careful look at the Verlo Grandeur Elite,” said Nelson. “It’s an amazing mattress and by far one of the best buys in the bedding industry.”
